Ryan Porter is the eldest Porter daughter. Born eleven months after James, the two grew up thick as theives. While James was usually the more agreeable child, eager to please his parents, Ryan could have cared less. Early on, it was noticable that Ryan was smarter than the other kids her age, which led to a lot of boredom in the classroom and in turn, sometimes acting out. Somewhere near high school, one of the teachers took notice of Ryan, and after a few tests, Ryan was determined to be gifted. She was moved from the public school and into a private, all girl's school on scholarship, where the challenges in the classroom put her on a better path. Ryan went on to attended Yale university on a financial scholarship and later Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship in 2005. She joined the US Navy Reserves while working as a speech writer in the communications office for the mayor of San Francisco, was deployed, and upon return from deployment, began working again as a speech writer. Ryan went on to take her writing talent elsewhere, eventually becoming a screen writer through connections she made through her boyfriend at the time. Currently, Ryan's most notable work is the Tomb Raider reboot.
Personality wise, Ryan tends to keep to herself and has a fairly dry sense of humor. She's quick to correct someone in conversation when she hears something that is wrong, and isn't shy about proving her point - which leads to a lot of headbutting situations between herself and her middle brother. James and Ryan are fairly close, having grown up so near each other in age, and have only grown closer over the years. James and Ryan rarely fight, and when they do, it tends to be unacknowledged until the dust settles.
